With the Companion Card (ID card for passengers with disabilities), you can take one accompanying person with you free of charge. Information on the Companion Travelcard: Disability Companion Travelcard on the SwissPass.

You can check whether a connection is accessible in the online timetable :
- Check your preferred connection on the timetable screen.
- Click on “Advanced search”.
- Activate the option “Display connections for accessible travel”. Select the accessibility restrictions and information you would like to see.
Bus stops are labelled in the timetable, and you can find the key for the symbols at Travelling with reduced mobility.
Instructions on how to activate the relevant travel advice in your SBB app or on the SBB online timetable can be found at Travel planning for accessible travel, under the headings “Find accessible connections in the SBB online timetable” and “Find accessible connections in the SBB Mobile app”.
A replacement shuttle service is provided for stops where independent boarding or boarding with the help of driving staff are not possible. The shuttle transports passengers with reduced mobility to the next accessible stop. Please note that passengers require a valid ticket to travel on the shuttle services.
Notify us of your travel request by phone on 0800 007 102, open daily from 5 a.m. to 12 midnight, or directly online via the timetable at swisspass.ch/handicap.
Please note the advance notice times
- Journeys within Switzerland must be registered at least two hours in advance.
- For connections on the night network and early morning connections before 6 a.m., the registration deadline is 11 p.m.
- Only for train journeys that require assistance from staff: journeys must be registered at least one hour in advance.
The SBB Inclusive App provides customer information in optical and digital format for people with visual impairments to access on their own smartphones. The information covers location-specific data for railway stations, long-distance services and tram and bus stops.

In order to travel in the wheelchair compartment of passenger coaches, the following maximum dimensions and weights apply. It is generally not possible to provide boarding and alighting assistance for larger and/or heavier wheelchairs.
