Frequently asked questions
Practical driving training
Retraining from driving licence cat. B or C to cat. D lasts around 3–5 months depending on the prior ownership of the respective vehicle category.
The training courses are offered as required, i.e. in consultation with you and your future driving instructor.
Fill in the request for offer form. We check availability with the driving instructor and confirm to you. You can then confirm the offer bindingly.
The driving lessons are distributed throughout the day in training blocks of 4 lessons (each lasting 45 minutes). You arrange appointments individually with the driving instructor. As a rule, lessons do not take place after 6 p.m. and at weekends, as we teach in training blocks. Exceptions must be agreed upon with the driving instructor.
You don’t need a language diploma. However, you must be able to communicate with your driving instructor, otherwise training is not possible.
Training category C
We do not offer training for cat. C at PostBus. You can complete your training with us from cat. B to cat. D. To save on lessons, you can first take the cat. C at another driving school and then complete the cat. C to cat. D with us.
Third-party financing DI/REC
Your DI/REC office can contact the PostBus Administration, see contact. We will send an offer to the DI/REC and copy you. The DI/REC office must then sign and return the offer. We then register the basic training with third party funding. You will then receive a confirmation. The driving instructor will contact you in due course.
Career changers’ training
On the job portal, you can check and apply for advertised career changer jobs. Applications that are not submitted for a vacant position cannot currently be considered.
PostBus supports you in your driver training. The level of participation will be determined individually and discussed between you and your future line manager during the personal interview.
On the first working day, you’ll start with theory and practical driving lessons with your driving instructor. You will be trained within the next two months and can then start directly in the driving service.
