Board the Postbus on route 111 in Wilderswil and get away from it all. The idyllic mountain village of Saxeten offers a wide range of activities in summer and winter amid unspoilt nature. Peacefulness and relaxation away from the crowds are the order of the day.

Highlights

You can reach Saxeten by Postbus (route 111Target not accessible) from Wilderswil. The journey takes just over 20 minutes and takes you through the wildly romantic high alpine valley up to the mountain village. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the stunning panoramas.

In summer, Saxeten is the perfect starting point for hikes and peaceful walks in nature, and in winter for tobogganing.

Summer activities

From Saxeten you can enjoy panoramic walks or more challenging mountain hikes, such as the hike up to the MorgenberghornTarget not accessible. You will be rewarded with sweeping views across Lake Thun to the Mittelland.

Winter activities

In winter, the Postbus takes you to Skipintli in Saxeten. From there, it is about an hour’s walk to Alp Nessleren, where the fast toboggan runTarget not accessible begins. Walk past frozen waterfalls and through snow-covered forests on the way back to the Restaurant Pintli.
