Axalp route

Starting from Brienz, this route travels up above Lake Brienz to Axalp. It offers a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain landscape, which is also reflected in the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz.

The Axalp route (route 155Target not accessible) transports you from Brienz to Axalp, where you can enjoy magnificent views and a family-friendly hiking and skiing area. Axalp is located on a clearing high above Lake Brienz

Summer activities

You can enjoy a wide variety of hikes from Axalp. The Schnitzlerweg trail leading to Lake Hinterburgseeli is particularly interesting. The hike takes around an hour and there are over 100 figures from different wood carvers to discover.

The Swiss Air Force also perform a displayTarget not accessible on Axalp every year.

Winter activities

In winter, a family-friendly ski resort opens its doors to skiing enthusiasts. Your little ones will be particularly delighted by the “Axiland” children’s ski parkTarget not accessible and the practice ski lifts. Cross-country ski trails, winter hiking routes and sledge runs provide plenty of variety for all tastes.
