The mountain hike up to the Fürstein takes you through the fantastic landscapes of the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve and Obwalden. The circular hike begins and ends at the top of the Glaubenberg Pass.

Glaubenberg hiking experience video without spoken text
From the beginning of May to the end of October, PostBus (route 60.232Target not accessible) runs from Entlebuch over the Glaubenberg Pass to Langis five times a day on weekends and public holidays and twice a day on Mondays to Fridays. Alternatively, you can reach the Glaubenberg from Sarnen, travelling via Langis.
Hike to the Fürstein
The hike starts at the PostBus stop “Glaubenberg, Passhöhe”, right behind the restaurant along the tarmac/gravel road. After a five-minute walk, the trail branches off left into the forest (as indicated by a sign). This is followed by an uphill walk through the forest and over the ridge towards Rickhubel and the Fürstein. You will then head downhill across Alpine meadows to Lake Sewenseeli and back to the starting point.
The hike requires good basic fitness, as the ascent to the Fürstein is very steep in places. Good hiking equipment is highly recommended.
