The Climate Protection Act sets binding requirements for the cantons on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Measures are necessary in various areas to meet these requirements. By switching its bus fleet to electric drive systems, PostBus is helping the cantons achieve their climate targets.

20 percent of CO₂ emissions in the Swiss public transport sector currently come from Postbuses. The biggest bus company in the Swiss public transport sector will convert its entire vehicle fleet to electric drive technology by 2035. To do so, PostBus will use locally produced green electricity.

The transformation is based on a nationally oriented plan that is coordinated with the cantons. This allows PostBus to proceed more strategically and cost-efficiently when developing the electrically powered fleet and the associated charging infrastructure, to the benefit of the purchasers. The national planning enables PostBus to move vehicles within the cantons and throughout Switzerland to put them to best use.
