The PostBus station in Chur is being renovated in stages for greater accessibility. Seven platforms will be built between March and the end of June 2024.
The PostBus station in Chur, built in 1992, is being renovated for greater accessibility. From summer 2024, the station will meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). Some 30 years after first opening, this is a crucial change to an important transfer hub for both commuters and leisure travellers. Swiss Post and PostBus have obtained the know-how of disability organizations Pro Infirmis Graubünden and Procap Grischun for the renovation.
Swiss Post and PostBus have been preparing for this important structural measure for over three years. For passengers with reduced mobility, the current ground-level stops will be converted into seven 22 centimetre high platforms. For those with visual impairments, tactile markings will be added and display panels will be modified. Passengers with hearing difficulties will benefit from an audible edition of the timetable: passengers can access the list of upcoming departures and disruption messages with a text-to-speech button.
Service will continue during the approximately four-month construction phase from March until the end of June 2024. We thank passengers in advance for their understanding that this renovation work may lead to disruptions.
