Double-decker Postbuses will start running to Iseltwald from June
In the wake of the Netflix series “Crash Landing on You”, the filming location of Iseltwald, on Lake Brienz, has become a tourist hotspot. Since 2022, PostBus has continuously been expanding its timetable. This boom is expected to last, which is why PostBus is putting on an express line from 1 June and deploying a double-decker bus. This more expansive service will also benefit local people.

Since early summer 2022, PostBus route 103 from Bönigen to Iseltwald has been enjoying exceptionally high demand. Many of the visitors on board are from Asia and are visiting the Lake Brienz peninsula because of the popular Korean TV drama series “Crash Landing on You”. In fact, the Iseltwald jetty was the filming location for a pivotal romance scene. By travelling to Lake Brienz by public transport, visitors have less of an impact on the little village’s infrastructure, which only has a limited number of parking spaces.
On busy days, about 2,000 passengers are using the Iseltwald line at present. This is why PostBus is expanding its service, and from Thursday 1 June 2023, it will be putting on ten additional express services. Passengers will travel in a double-decker Postbus, which can transport up to 120 passengers – which is a quarter more capacity than the current Postbuses in use. This means both locals and visitors will have access to 31 services to and from Iseltwald a day, and as many as 34 at the weekend. This is more than twice as many Postbus connections as prior to the boom.

The timetable apps, online timetables and bus stop timetables are being modified.
