Hike over the Seerücken (Weinfelden–Kreuzlingen)

It doesn’t always have to be the mountains – the Lake Constance region also has its own special charm. On a light hike from Weinfelden to Kreuzlingen, you can get to an altitude of around 250 metres in about 17 kilometres. Your destination is the beautiful Lake Constance.

Passing Weinfelden Castle, which sits high above the Thur Valley, the trail leads through the Raathof forest. The Stelzenhof restaurant with its traditional cuisine is also located directly on the route. The hike continues along signposted trails to Ellighausen, and, from there, over the idyllic pond landscape of the Bommer Weiher. You can enjoy some rest in this beautiful spot. Passing through wooded areas, you’ll head towards Bernrain until you reach the PostBus stop Kreuzlingen, Kirche Bernrain or Kreuzlingen Bernrain railway station.

Enjoy a sweet arrival in Kreuzlingen Bernrain and visit chocolate maker Bernrain’s factory shop. Along the way, the following stops are ideal for covering part of the route with PostBus:
