Sound trail – experimenting with sound in the great outdoors
A gentle hike in the fresh Toggenburg mountain air with a melodious natural experience: at the foot of the Churfirsten, you can experiment with various sounds at around 25 stations. The sound trail leads from Alp Sellamatt via the Iltios to Wildhaus.
Stage 1
The pure hiking time from Alp Sellamatt to Iltios is around 45 minutes. As you will discover seven sound stations along the way, you should plan at least 1.5 hours for the hike. The 2.5 kilometre long stage is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Stage 2
The second stage takes you from Iltios to Oberdorf and then to Wildhaus. For the route of 3.5 kilometres, you should plan around one and a half hours for the hike, and at least as much time to experiment with the unique sound stations along the way.
Schwendisee detour
On the way to Wildhaus, why not cool down with a dip in the Schwendisee. There are four other instruments for audio fans to play by the lakes. The detour down to the Schwendi lakes takes around one hour, excluding bathing time.
The sound trail is accessible from June to October. The hike on the sound trail can also be started on the Iltios river in Unterwasser or at Oberdorf in Wildhaus.
