Seleger Moor Park is an ideal place to relax amidst the stunning blossom. Hundreds of thousands of rhododendrons and azaleas will enthral you with their bright colours. The park’s founder, Robert Seleger, grew many of them himself.
Different plants are in bloom at different times of the year:
- From April: Depending on the weather conditions, the water lilies provide an explosion of colour from April.
- From May and June: The rhododendrons in bloom are absolutely stunning. The “Weinlese” variety blossom into late autumn. The vibrant water lilies are a delight to see and lift the soul well into August. With its many shades of green, the mystical fern garden has a contrasting, calming effect on your senses.
- In autumn, the warm light and autumn leaves create a magical atmosphere in the park.
Along with a large number of maze-like trails, a three-kilometre long, wheelchair-accessible path crosses the park.
Over 250 varieties of rhododendron and azalea are available at the entrance.
The park café serves delicious refreshments for a break along the way. There’s a barbecue area where families can enjoy picnics.
Getting to Seleger Moor Park
Take the S5 or S14 to Affoltern am Albis. From there, continue with bus 223 to “Rifferswil, Seleger Moor”.

Hiking from Mettmenstetten to Seleger Moor Park
Why not hike to Seleger Moor Park? It takes just an hour to hike from Mettmenstetten via Säuliamt to Seleger Moor Park. The trail goes across country with a slight ascent. On a clear day, there are views of the Central Swiss Alps and over a hundred peaks.
