Langis-Glaubenberg winter paradise
Winter hikers and sledging enthusiasts will get their money’s worth in this idyllic high valley situated at 1,444 metres above sea level, with its breathtaking panorama. For skiers and snowboarders, there is a 300-metre-long ski lift with night lighting.

In winter, the Langis region on the Glaubenberg Pass, situated above Lake Sarnen, is transformed into a magnificent paradise for cross-country skiers, snowshoers, winter hikers and sledging enthusiasts.
The Glaubenberg Pass (1,543 metres above sea level) is a small pass that crosses from Sarnen (Canton of Obwalden) to Entlebuch (Canton of Lucerne). Directly before the pass, on the Obwalden side, is Langis. PostBus route 344 will transport you conveniently to this winter wonderland.
Highlights
- Fröschenseeli circuit
The first half of the Fröschenseeli trail leads through fairly flat and slightly wooded terrain, past the Andresen hut to Schwendi-Kaltbad, a former spa resort.
- Jänzi Panorama Trail
This signposted snowshoeing trail leads to Jänzi, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain landscape and the Sarnen Valley.
- Guided moonlight snowshoe tours
Breathtaking winter landscapes cloaked in deep snow appear in the silver moonlight, creating an unforgettable experience in white.
